In my role as E-Rostering Trainer and Implementer, I am responsible for the roll out of the most up-to-date E-Rostering planning and reporting software. This enables our Trust to work with accurate and safe forecasting information of staffing needs by capturing patient acuity data on a daily basis, to ensure the Trust delivers safe well planned care. Along with the team, I am responsible for training small groups of new and existing users, software configuration, data management, reporting and monitoring workforce utilisation and efficiency through effective rostering practice. The role encompasses structured project management, training delivery, data management, trend analysis/benchmarking, data interpretation, report creation and technology integration (non-technical), supplier management.

Generic recruitment covers areas such as Cardiology Trauma and Orthopaedic, ENT, Vascular, Oncology, Stroke, Neurology, Gastroenterology and General and Old Age Medicine. However this has more recently extended to areas such as Theatres, Paediatrics, Oncology and the Emergency Departments. Covering such a diverse mix of departments and working closely with our Nursing Managers and their ward staff, has given me a real insight into the Trust and a deep respect for the work that they do.
