About Kyle A Mann

I am a software engineer who specializes in cloud computing and distributed systems with respect to Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and specifically LiDAR and point cloud data.In my experience as a software engineer I have had many varied projects, all with the intent of delivering point cloud data f and visualization tools. Languages I have used on a professional level include C++, Javascript (node and typescript), Bash/Sh/Zsh, as well as Python. I develop almost exclusively on Unix and Linux systems.While the majority of my experience revolves around distributed systems and cloud computing for point cloud data, I have also written open source C++ for the Point Data Abstraction Library (PDAL), specifically tools for Esri's I3S/SLPK libraries and Google's Draco library.I am well versed in AWS Cloudformation, Terraform, and the design of cloud resource management software. I am also experienced with cloud architecture design, deployment techniques, and cloud platform-specific pitfalls to avoid.
