Design, configure, install & support residential local area networks. Working alongside team to recognize equipment, fiber, ethernet and bandwidth requirements, alongside the most efficient LAN network configurations to provide quick network speeds to various cases of residential use. Working primarily with Cisco, Mikrotik, Brocade & TP Link in new and existing construction environments to meet end user needs.

• Maintain network and cable connectivity in four college complex locations within West Lafayette• Hold and demonstrate knowledge in networking to troubleshoot and find the root cause of issues throughout contracted sites• Time management, organization and discipline skills necessary as lone employee within surrounding counties• Use interpersonal communication daily to resolve potential conflict with upset residents or staff, conveying information in an effective manner• Ability to multitask, innovate and think quickly to solve issues involved is a must

As the main precision based quality inspector, the position requires the ability to pay very close attention to detail to both the physical products as well as the paper aspect of the job. My duties were to ensure that each part that went through multiple stages maintained dimensions and standards according to the blueprint. This included ensuring measurements were correct after leaving the brake press to ensure each weld was proficient as well as ensuring that all threads that may be present were correct and in the right location. Once the part was complete in terms of construction I then made sure that the powder coat was without fault and would finally sign off on the finished part to ship to the customer. This position held stressful as well as rewarding points as I was looked to as a leader for the precision team, and thus held liability for both successes and failures that may have occurred.

The responsibilities that this position held included the installation of gas distribution lines for both main and service gas lines. This job required the hand digging and spotting of utilities to install gas lines that met standard regulations for safety. This job required a significant amount of manual labor in addition to the dangers of digging near live gas lines with the intent of attaching them to new extensions leading to businesses and homes. Although this job was not a glorious one, it helped to develop a sense of diligence, hard work, discipline as well as problem solving. Having to wake up early on a daily basis and perform manual labor also helped to create a sense of appreciation for the blue-collar class throughout the nation.
