Electrical engineering has been a clear and obvious choice for me ever since attending Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. It has allowed me to think critically through the design process while I still enjoy the thrill of working with my hands in analog classes. The connection of digital and analog continues to excite me as do antennas. The thrill of discovery and using intuition to design a functioning product fuels my life long learning in the field of electrical engineering.Many of the lessons I learn in the classroom I can take to areas of my life outside of work and school, however, inspiration can also come from enjoying activities outside of the office. I have always lived an active lifestyle, whether it be soccer, climbing, or hiking. The outdoors provides inspiration and a release from the indoors. There is nothing more freeing than being on a trail in the middle of nowhere being left to your own thoughts where it seems easier to make connections.The people I surround myself with also help shape who I am. I am an active member in my church and Triangle Fraternity. Both communities have taught me invaluable lessons on character and hard work. Being apart of settings like these has given me plenty of experience working in a group. This includes leading and following. I understand that I have a role in a group and that my role may change with time, but wherever I am placed I look to have a mentor that can pass down helpful suggestions. What I would provide for a company is a loyal and hardworking employee who enjoys what he does. I get along with most anyone I am paired with and I am willing to work until the job gets done. These qualities along with my education from Rose-Hulman have prepared me to face new challenges with intuition and critical thinking.
