60% Coordinate and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments, collect, analyze and interpret data. These duties involve: planning of the necessary mice and reagents for each experiment; cell sorting of lymphocyte populations; flow cytometric staining, acquisition and analysis; setup various in vitro assays; mouse surgery such as preparation for intravital microscopy; generation of bone marrow chimeras; cryo-sectioning and staining of tissue samples. 30% Animal husbandry: including breeding, weaning, marking, monitoring and keeping records of mouse colonies. Mouse typing will require: DNA extraction, PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, and sometimes Western blotting and flow cytometry. Keeping electronic records of mouse generations. Interact with animal care technicians and lab members to reduce and expand colonies as required. 10% Maintain inventory, supply stocks and reagents. Prepare solutions and media. Keeping the laboratory in suitable condition. Ensure appropriate safety/regulatory procedures are followed and enforce University policies within the laboratory to ensure compliance. Assist lab members with orders for mice/reagents. Assist PI in the preparation of grants/manuscripts.

Inventoried, bred, and cared for animals while performing diagnosis, surgery, and treatments when necessary. I have been given many responsibilities in this position including management and supervising of the facility's new In-Vivo Imaging System (IVIS) to perform luminescent, bio-luminescent, and x-ray imaging in animals for multiple labs within the facility.
