A pilot for a designated complaint handler for Allianz Direct for the existing business teams. The pilot meant I was on charge of handling all 6 existing business teams complaints. This role involved drafting up and issuing resolution letters, finding out if a complaint lies with another department, calling back customers when needed, liaising with managers and staff members where the complaint required further investigation, this may mean communicating with other departments where necessary, and to try and resolve all complaints in a timely manner to ensure the customer is satisfied. In my time doing this role it also helped the agents on the phones focus on getting the calls answered and not having to worry about dealing with complaints. The result of this pilot was talk time increased by 5% within 2 weeks as the phone agent spent more time on phones to focus on keeping the abandonment rate down.

Starting Allianz in 2018 with no previous knowledge in the insurance sector, I started in the personal customer service, retention and sales motor lines. Since then I have been train in commercial, taxi, household and pet personal lines. I have also worked on department projects, attended smart circle meetings and also worked callback queues, I have been apart of the outbound sales team and also acting as referral point for the department to help with escalating queries from all staff members, as well as social media queries from market management, call backs/complaints from direct unit leaders. I have buddied new starts when they have come on to the floor sharing my knowledge and experience with them I have buddied as much as four new staff members at one time. This has allowed me to enhance my skills in team management and to how prioritise my own workload as well as the team I was looking after. In April 2020 I was promoted to one of the senior agents of the department. This included assisting the teams unit leader, and helping staff members with call backs, complaints, queries and listening to calls when needed. This also meant when my teams unit leader was off on annual leave or sick I wouldact as the team unit leader. I am currently on the new business sales team, while also acting as a referral point for the department when needed. I have also brought forward multiple ideas to help improve the department some of which have since been implemented. During my time in Allianz I have been recognised and rewarded for both second best newcomer of 2018 and in 2019 I finished within the top three sellers for the year.

I started in Ellis Quay in 2013 as a store assistant which entailed operating the tills, stocking shelves, packing away deliveries. I then got promoted to shift supervisor where I began to learn about stock takes, counting the tills and running a shift and team correctly.From then I was promoted to store manager, overseeing whole store. That included being in charge of 20+ staff, the cash for the store, pricing, store layouts, making weekly rosters, overseeing weekly internal stock takes as well as store stock takes. I was in charge of all orders(which including face to face meetings with reps) and deliveries coming into the store. We also managed to increase store profits and maintaining margin. I was health and safety champion of the store, which were audited on a yearly basis, I was also first aid trained and also attended fire warden training. I took the store from a 0 star to a 5 star rated to within 14 months and maintained the standard until my departure.

Working in Dublin airport, assisting passengers with reduced mobility to their flights, cars, busses, taxis or to their connecting flights. This also meant if we had a passenger who was full incapacitated we would manually lift them from their seats to their wheelchairs or vice versa. A physically demanding job that I loved every moment of.

I was in 5th year in school and had a child, so I had to go out and work. Balancing school and work life was a challenging time but something that has stood to me and will stand to me going forward in a busy environment and being able to balance both work and private life isn’t easy at times. My job role here was to cut meats, stock up the front counters and fridges, weigh the meats and pack them out, and also help the customers with their orders. Unfortunately due to cut backs I was let go as I was the last one in.
