Competitive gymnast throughout my childhood at a national level, after retiring from my competitive gymnastics career I began to coach gymnastics in New York, NY while obtaining an education at the Fashion Institute of Technology. While acquiring my degree at FIT I was able to gain access to the fashion industry through internships at Tommy Hilfiger and Christy Rilling Tailoring Studio. Outside of my education and coaching gymnastics, I was becoming an advocate for individuals with disabilities collaborating with Teen Vogue and The Generations Project on various print publications and speeches. My advocacy is what soon led me to many more amazing opportunities such as designing for The Phluid Project, being a featured designer for the CFDA Future of Fashion designer showcase, and most recently a finalist for the 2019 Gucci Design Fellowship in Rome.

Summer Design FellowOpen Style Lab May 2022 - PresentNew York, New York, United StatesOpen Style Lab is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating functional, wearable solutions for people of all abilities without compromising style. Over a six-week period, I got the opportunity to learn more about inclusive design, adaptive fashion, and collaborative research with people from the Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) community. At the end of the fellowship, the other designers and I will debut our work during New York Fashion Week.

Assistant DesignerThe Phluid Project Aug 2019 - Dec 2019Greater New York City AreaThe Phluid Project is New York's first gender non-binary clothing store, during my time there I assisted in the production of a workwear collection aimed for the transgendered community. My day-to-day consisted of taking notes and photographs during fittings as well as assisting with the visual merchandising of the Phluid Project store. This was an amazing opportunity to become more educated on the transgendered community while giving me a chance to expand my skill set in design and patternmaking for an audience that encompass all genders and sizes. -
Tailoring Atelier InternChristy Rilling Studio Feb 2019 - May 2019Greater New York City AreaFor my senior year at the Fashion Insititute of Technology, I acquired an internship at the Christy Rilling Tailoring Atelier. While there I was able to experience tailoring for high-end clientele such as Michelle Obama and Vogue, providing me the chance to sit in on fittings while documenting measurements and notes for adjustments. The work I did at Christy Rilling was often hands-on with projects such as beading a garment, dyeing yardage of fabric, and making pattern adjustments. I felt that the work I was doing at the studio was the most exciting because I enjoy the process of working with my hands and being able to see my work worn by the clientele to special events like the Met Gala and a variety of awards shows.

Women'S Ready To Wear Design InternTommy Hilfiger Mar 2018 - Sep 2018Greater New York City AreaI interned for Tommy Hilfiger in the women's ready to wear department the summer of my junior year, I worked full time that summer and got a great experience in the corporate design world. The duties asked of me on a regular day often included creating technical flats for production overseas, sourcing fabrics or trims, and researching inspiration images for future collections. I also got an exciting chance to assist with the production of Tommy Hilfiger Adaptive, a collection designed to be more accessible for individuals with disabilities. -
