I have been an outdoor guide and climbing instructor for five years and have been involved in every level of leadership within these guiding groups. A large part of guiding is client care and listening to their needs and trying to meet them while also helping them learn and grow. Another aspect is being organized and prepared while remaining flexible. The common factor in the different places I have guided for is that we cater to individuals with little to no experience in the outdoors at an affordable price. This was a way to share a passion for the outdoors with people who don’t have the gear or experience required to safely enjoy nature on their own.
