After finishing university back in 2009 when I first started looking for a potential career, I quickly discovered the typical job application process was slow, lacking & downright painful. So I flipped it on its head, launched a website called EmployKyle.com, and let the world know who I was, what I'd done to date and the ambitions I held, I then asked companies to bid for me to work for them, asking for a job offer and salary.In hindsight, that was utterly foolish and arrogant! But I was 23 and it worked, the idea caught the attention of the press, I recived widespread national coverage and a little bit of global coverage. At the end of my countdown, I had over 40 job offers from small companies to huge PLCs. I accepted the only one that came from the bright lights of New York City. That job was all about hustle, creating something out of nothing and it set me on my own path. A year later I returned to England and with no real experience or connections in the design industry, but a fistful of hope, ambition & naivety I co-founded Studio B. A brilliant decision. After 12+ years we've worked on some projects that still make my jaw drop. These include a 70-acre project with The Wave in Bristol the first-of-its-kind in the UK inland surfing lake. Developing mind-blowing hospitality experiences with YTL Arena, which will be the third biggest arena in the country bringing world-class talent to the South West. And working with countless growing, and tirelessly ambitious SMEs up and down the country. On top of this I've also had the privilege of working with outlandishly talented collaborators that are known across all continents, including Grimshaw, Hydrock, FCB Studios and countless more. Over the last decade, I've had the good fortune to cofound, create and continue to own and operate multiple independent brands in the retail and hospitality sectors. This gives me a unique perspective of knowing how our client's businesses work from the seeds of an idea to making it happen and becoming profitable. I take huge pride in what we do, I'm continually failing and learning, seeking growth and love getting involved with other like-minded and equally ambitious folk.
