Just prior to leaving China I joined the Perfect Display team to assist as CQO to assist during their transition from a single production facility making ~20,000 units a month to a dual production facility model capable of producing >40,000 units per month. Within this role I was in charge of departmental budgeting and was highly involved in strategic planning surrounding financing, constructing, and training the second facility. In my day to day I was in charge of coordinating quality control efforts as well as developing a training curriculum across both production sites in order to meet the needs of international customers around the globe. Through a mixture of quantitative modeling, investment in staffing and working capital, and a tiered training schedule, my department was successful in increasing audit pass rate from 56% to 100%, and lowered customercomplaints by 75% while collaborating with the production and engineer teams to increase output by 90%.I credit much of my success in raising quality standards during this difficult time to my success in reducing departmental monthly turnover by 42%. This combined with data-driven models to identify top problem areas allowed me to use less time training a constant stream of new hires and more time focusing training on high-impact problems.

As the head of the operational FP&A division of CT's controlling department, my primary tasks centered on developing detailed financial models for both ongoing and potential projects for large multi-national partnerships with the Volkswagen Group, General Motors, and the Ford Motor Company. I then worked closely with management, sales, and engineering to use these models to lower production costs and to provide ROI analysis for proposed corporate investments. During my two and a half years with CT I developed cost savings analysis models for more than 20 projects across 3 production sites, balanced the competing needs of engineering and production teams with those of quality and management to meet customer needs within a budget, and identified investment opportunities that would save the company more than $5M over ten years and increase production throughput by more than 34%.Finally, by working closely with the rest of the controlling team, I helped eliminate the need for hours of manual data entry each day by using VBA to automate the process and create a documentation database for accounting records that was both more secure and less error prone.

At Asia Pacific I co-founded an export business with a friend, sourcing construction supplies from mainland China and selling them in the US. I was primarily responsible for all finance and accounting activities, U.S. logistics, and customer relations and in conjunction with my partner who oversaw the operation and maintenance seller sites, we grew the company to achieve profitability within eighteen months of drafting the initial concept.On regular visits to China to ensure quality control and manufacturing standards in supplier factories, I would work with production teams in Chinese factories to explain product specifications and ensure timely deliveries.Beginning with our first sale in the end of 2012, my partner and I have grew the company to become a top-rated seller for construction materials and power tools on both Amazon and E-Bay grossing over $200,000 in revenue within our first two years. I assisted in reviewing the Stern Review on Global Climate Change as well as attending a number of conferences on public policy related topics. I researched conclusions drawn by the controversial "Stern Review on Global Climate Change" by reviewing source documents to lay groundwork for an article on the validity of the Lord Stern's conclusions. I also met regularly with my supervisor and reported my progress and my impressions of possible weaknesses in the reports findings. I participated in numerous conferences with industry leaders to discuss economic policy and cultivated my personal organizational skills by working long hours without direct supervision.
