Project Manager, Community Organizer
CurrentI have been working for Leathers & Associates as a Community Organizer and Project Manager for the last 29 years. Leathers & Associates is a full service custom-design firm that assists communities with all aspects of designing, organizing and building one-of-a-kind playgrounds. L&A specializes in utilizing volunteers in the construction process and believes strongly in the benefits of the community-build approach. Each playground design is unique and reflects the culture and architecture of its local community.I enjoy every aspect of the firm from organizing clients in preparation for design days to leading special features (art) on community playground builds, and everything in-between. Empowered happy clients—both young and old—is what motivates me to give my very best each day. I have the ability to find creative solutions in challenging situations and tackle each task with positive energy. In addition to my strong business skills, I am a talented mosaic artist. A kid at heart, I continue to push the limits of play and given the opportunity will always be the first to test new play components! Growing up and playing with a cousin that has cerebral palsy, I understand first-hand the importance and benefits of all inclusive playgrounds. I had the pleasure of serving on the Community Built Association’s (CBA) Board of Directors for three terms and as conference coordinator for four. I enjoy, promote and encourage collaborations with other CBA members.When not at work, you can find me spending time with my family, running, attending CrossFit, taking my dog (Mango) for walks on the beach, and creating art.
