Hi, I'm Kyle, a self-taught game programmer. I'm proficient with Unreal Engine and Unity, two of the most popular game engines in the industry. I program with C++ and Blueprints in Unreal and C# in Unity, creating games that are fast, versatile, and fun.I have recently completed Tom Looman's Professional Game Development in C++ and Unreal Engine Course, which he taught at Stanford University. In this course, I created a third-person action game framework with various gameplay features, such as abilities, buffs, powerups, AI, multiplayer, UI, and save system. I also became proficient in developing a C++ backbone and extending it into Blueprints to make the most out of speed and versatility by creating game frameworks the Unreal way, and using GameplayTags, Events, Asset Manager, EQS, Behavior Trees, Data Tables, and Data Assets effectively.I have a passion for games and a keen eye for gameplay mechanics, UI design and UX. I have learned how to use Unity's tools to create games with graphics, lighting, audio, animation, VFX and prototyping. I have also completed Unity's Create With Code and Creative Core learning pathways, which taught me how to apply coding principles to game development.I'm always eager to learn new skills and technologies, which is why I decided to switch careers from plastics production management to web development. I graduated from the Skills for Hire Atlantic program, where I learned the fundamentals of web development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, React, Git workflow, Node.js, PHP, MySQL, Mongo DB, Python, REST APIs, Flutter 2 and Figma.I am currently working on my own game projects using Unreal Engine and Unity, where I apply and expand my programming skills and knowledge. I am always eager to learn new tools and techniques to improve my game development workflow and quality. I am also interested in collaborating with other game developers and sharing my ideas and feedback. You can check out my portfolio website at https://cussk.github.io/kylecuss.com where I showcase my best work.
