Graduate research assistant focused on mixed frequency/time-domain multidimensional spectroscopy of thin film semiconductors. Due to the large size of the datasets (between 10^3 and 10^6 data points) generated during these multidimensional spectroscopy experiments, I develop Python scripts, modules, and packages to process, analyze, and generate visualizations of the data.

Synthesized optically smooth semiconductor samples for multidimensional spectroscopy experiments using electron-beam evaporation and chemical vapor deposition techniques:• Synthesized thin-film polycrystalline MX2 (MoS2, WS2, MoSe2, WSe2) semiconductors samples• Synthesized 1L, 2L, and 3L single-crystal MX2 (MoS2, WS2, MoSe2, WSe2) semiconductors samples• Synthesized mixed thin-film polycrystalline/single-crystal WSe2/MoS2 heterostructure semiconductor samplesUltrafast multidimensional spectroscopy experiments were conducted on semiconductor samples to observe the evolution of photo-excited quantum states as a function of time and excitation wavelength.

Developed a reproducible, size-tunable PbSe Quantum Dot (QD) synthesis via a hot-injection Schlenk-line approach, under the supervision of Dan Kohler and Professor Song Jin. PbSe QD excited-state dynamics were investigated using ultrafast transient-transmittance spectroscopy under the supervision of Schuyler Kain and Professor John C. Wright.Research was supported through an NSF-funded Research Experience for Undergraduate (REU) fellowship.

Designed an inexpensive electrochemical synthesis of an eco-friendly oxidizing agent, ferrate (VI), for the degradation of antibacterial sulfonamide sulfa drugs present in public drinking water. Degradation metabolites were isolated and quantified via HPLC to verify the efficacy of ferrate (VI) sulfa drug degradation. Research design and experiments were carried out under the supervision of Professor Graeme Wyllie.

Compiled a biodiversity index of lakeshore property and surrounding woodlands. Removed invasive lakeshore plant species and performed a lakeshore restoration by reintroducing native species.
