Embedded Program Manager in a software engineering and systems development team within AWS, supporting our team's mission of "inspection at scale." Responsible for managing the back-end development of an existing survey program, as well as scoping and growing two new programs related to ETL processes and data analytics. I partner with engineers and other teams to deliver difficult, cross-functional projects. Tools used are Smartsheet for creating and tracking user stories; Visual Studio Code for inspecting Python scripts; and AWS services such as DynamoDB, Redshift, S3, and QuickSight.

Accountable for the overall strategy of the new AWS Support Survey that was delivered to over 80,000 customers. I combined three teams' legacy surveys into one streamlined Qualtrics survey, while also adding questions from five additional teams within the AWS Support organization. Automated the delivery mechanism using Marketo and Salesforce, reducing overall time that managers spent delivering the survey by over 3,000 hours. Coordinated with 18 volunteers who translated and reviewed the survey in 10 different languages. Conducted User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with 200 Enterprise Support Managers and Technical Account Managers.Received an accolade from skip-level manager after presenting this plan to the VP of Enterprise Support and her leadership team: “Kyle did a great job of pulling together a great narrative to bring the leadership team to a decision. This was done at short notice and helped us convince the Leadership Team we had a blind spot.”

Led EY's data analyst workstream for the Information Technology (IT) Service Center at a large governmental agency; support included data analysis, process improvement, change management, and communications management.Conducted client interviews, confirmed client's current state and desired future state, developed a gap analysis, and created a three-phase plan and timeline for achieving project goals.Completed first phase of the project within the first month; analyzed over 200,000 IT incidents to inform the client about a vendor's performance on a $1 million monthly contract; created an interactive Excel dashboard and produced concise Power Point presentations that the client presented to the IT Service Center director.Developed a Power BI dashboard for the second phase of the project, which organized a multitude of Excel deliverables into one drill-through report of the IT Service Center’s seven Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Presented the client with a long-term strategy for the IT Service Center, which includes creating knowledge articles with the assistance of AI and Machine Learning technologies, such as Natural Language Processing, to parse every incident detail and capture the essential problems that users are experiencing.

Strategic Planning: Upon my promotion to Captain, I was selected for the senior logistics staff position within a 400-employee helicopter organization. My team of 10 direct reports planned and supervised the permanent relocation of the entire helicopter organization from Germany to Alaska.Cross-Team Collaboration: Led a team of multifunctional experts during a large-scale training exercise simulating a foreign invasion, where my team of 40 logisticians coordinated for the delivery of over $1 million in supplies and equipment between the end-users on the front lines, and the suppliers who received clear guidance and accurate forecasts from data and reports that my team analyzed and produced.

People Management: I was selected two years ahead of typical career progression to fill a Captain leadership position where I led a 100 employee organization with 8 direct reports. I managed $21 million of equipment and supported over 300 family members as the Rear Detachment Commander while the 400 employee helicopter organization was deployed.Project Management: Upon receiving orders for our organization to temporarily relocate from Germany to Kuwait, I was selected to lead a 12-person team that planned and supervised the transportation of 300+ soldiers, 8 helicopters, and over 120 vehicles to Kuwait. Operations: Upon my promotion to First Lieutenant, I was selected to be the operations manager of a 100-employee logistics company within a 400-employee helicopter organization, where I managed the daily operations.

Client Relations: In Kuwait, I managed 5 direct reports and an organization of 30 cross-functional Soldiers who delivered over $50 million of fuel, ammunition, and equipment to aviation units throughout the Middle East. I learned three essential factors for managing a large team operating in multiple locations - trust, clear intent, and flexibility.Leadership: My first assignment was at Storck Barracks, Germany, where I led a 52-employee distribution unit within a 100-employee logistics organization for six months in Germany before our entire organization temporarily relocated to Kuwait. Personal Development: After graduating from college, I commissioned into the U.S. Army as a junior officer at the rank of Second Lieutenant. My first duty station was at Fort Lee, Virginia, where I attended the four-month Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC).
