Beginning as an operator on the production line I was able to pursue a masters degree through Johnson Control's tuition reimbursement program and learn valuable manufacturing experience that has been applicable in my current HR role. I took an HR position in South Carolina where I developed a job training plan for new and existing production team members to help reduce machine downtime, minimize quality defects, and eliminate safety incidents. In addition, collaborated with the Toledo HR team and assisted with all day to day functions including: recruiting, phone screens, interviewing, new employee orientation, and labor management matters. I learned and took ownership of the grievance handling procedure, helped lead investigations, and handled various employee and workplace issues. I am now assisting JCI’s Florence, KY plant with HRIS system accuracy in Workday and working on a team of HR professionals to develop leadership training for new production supervisors and managers.
