I am an attorney focusing on probate and elder law in Virginia, the District of Columbia and Maryland. For probate matters, I help executors and administrators of the estates of deceased friends and family members navigate the difficulties of estate administration. This includes helping with inventories and accountings, proper distribution to beneficiaries, probating irregular or problematic wills, appraising and selling property, dealing with estate creditors, dealing with will contests and dealing with difficult heirs and beneficiaries.For elder law matters, I help clients with mentally incapacitated loved ones become court appointed guardians and conservators so that they can make medical and financial decisions for the incapacitated individuals once they are no longer able to do so for themselves. I have worked on cases with individuals with dementia, schizophrenia, developmental disorders, bi-polar and other mental illnesses. I have also worked on cases to stop financial exploitation of the elderly.
