Leader of the Customer Product group (~60 global eng) responsible for Foursquare's customer facing products: Foursquare, Swarm, Places API, Personalization API, Movement SDK, Studio, Attribution and Targeting. Set guidelines for how the teams organized, tracked work and the principles that we needed to follow to meet our goals. Managed a multi-million dollar cloud capex footprint and multiple vendor negotiations and contracts.Went hands on when needed to give feedback on designs, jump into firefights to alleviate outages, fix bugs or address developer experience issues causing our engineers precious time. Also spent a lot of time getting our customer operations and sales engineering teams up to speed to help them with customer technical concerns as well as met frequently with customers to help onboarding or renewal conversations.Architect of the high level reorganization of the entire engineering organization in Q4 of 2023 to take advantage of a new leadership team and company priorities. Led the project to revamp our engineering career ladders and levels to ensure that each engineer had a clear set of expectations and path for growth at the company. Worked with HR to implement updated role changes aligned with our company career matrix and then roll out the updates to the broader engineering group. Organized and ran the company bi-annual hack weeks and monthly demo days.Built strong relationships over the years outside of engineering in Product, GTM, Legal and Finance to increase trust and collaboration in our day to day work.

Expanded remit beyond the Developer and Consumer products to take on our foundational data product teams with the Places and Visits teams (~35 eng in total), reporting to the head of engineering. Worked to modernize and consolidate our 2 Places systems into the Places of the future for Foursquare.Championed and guided the overhaul of our API with the launch of the updated V3 version of the Foursquare API. Built out the supporting team for our API products to include developer advocate and technical writing roles. Led the "one Foursquare" company initiative to uncover and focus on ways to make the engineering organization more efficient and effective after 3 acquisitions in 3 years. Identified problems and worked with other engineering leaders to prioritize and execute on the initiatives.Adopted and invested in the internal Developer Platform team who were responsible for the common software tooling and support that all of the engineering teams used. Focused on replacing the tooling that ran all of foursquare's monorepo (Pants) build tool with Bazel.

At AllPoints I worked as an intern in the Information Systems department. There I had an assortment of responsibilities, from fixing hardware and software issues for employees, to creating a company wide system backup plan. I also developed some new modules in PHP for the company website and did some scripting in the Sensus Market Research Software.
