New Graduate Nurse (BSN, RN) [May 2024] with plans to utilize systems implementation background in critical care and nursing research to reach vulnerable populations and systematically improve patient outcomes.Central to my research interests is an exploration of Adverse Childhood Events (ACEs) and their far-reaching implications on individual trajectories. Witnessing the intergenerational cycle of adversity within my own family and community, I have become acutely aware of the ripple effects of childhoodtrauma. By investigating the mechanisms through which ACEs influence health outcomes andthe transition to adulthood, I aim to shed light on pathways for intervention and support,particularly for those from single-parent households who may face heightened risks, due topositionality differences like race, gender, and sexuality.My aim as an RN is to make an impact on each patient and their families by connecting with them and truly understanding their past, present, and goals for future health. With this knowledge, I believe planning care that will make a lasting difference is more attainable and benefits the whole family.
