Commercial loan underwriting specializing in mid-market commercial real estate, responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and underwriting loan applications for commercial properties within the mid-market segment. Typical deal size varies from $1M to $30M and includes a wide range of transaction types. Key Responsibilities:Loan Evaluation & Analysis:Review and assess loan applications for mid-market commercial real estate transactions, including but not limited to office buildings, retail centers, industrial properties, construction lines and multi-family buildings. Evaluate property values, borrower financials, and overall creditworthiness.Financial Modeling & Risk Assessment:Conduct detailed financial analysis, including cash flow projections, debt service coverage ratios (DSCR), loan-to-value ratios (LTV), internal rate of return (IRR) calculations, and stress testing. Identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies for complex transactions. Due Diligence & Documentation:Oversee the due diligence process to ensure all necessary documents, such as appraisals, environmental reports, financial statements, tax returns, and operating statements, are obtained and reviewed. Ensure the loan application complies with both internal guidelines and external regulations. Prepare detailed Credit Memo reflecting all pertinent information and analysis to decision makers. Loan Reviews:Perform annual loan reviews and covenant tests on the existing portfolio. Analyze updated property and guarantor financials and assure that the credit or relationship is properly risk rated.
