About Kyle Holmes
I have been working in game development for 5 years, I am a very hard working and ambitious game developer. who specializes in technical design. I started this journey at Falmouth university completing a BA in Digital games in 2019. Since this over the last 18 month I went on to complete my masters in Entripenurship and co found Handsome Devil Studios - a small indie studio working on my most recent game The Last Siren (MVP) . I have been working primarily as a Techinical designer, covering most aspects of game development. While working on The Last Siren we managed to get green lite by one of Amcericas biggest Tv network allow us to attach The Last Siren onto the TV shows IP.My first game I worked on at university was called ALT. During this project I would be placed into a design/programmer role, this role would require me to work on level design and level programming in C#.In my second year of university, I would be placed into a bigger team that had me specialize more, which required me to take up a gameplay programming role in this team. I would primarily work on level programming in the Unreal Engine working in Blueprint programming. I would learn to work effectively in a team and whenever the team would face hardship I would help to guide us back on track.In my 3rd year of university, I would work closely on a small project that I am hopeful we can develop further in the future. In my third year, I would work in multiple roles to meet the needs of my team. On this project, my main role would be lead programmer, but I would also need to program animations for the game, set up audio triggers, and balance the game's mechanics.Since the summer of 2019, I have completed a masters in Entrepreneurship getting a merit grade, and my partners and I have founded our games studio Handsome Devil Studios. Unfortunately, we have come to the decision that now was not the right time to start a company and I am now ready to go into the games industry as a technical designer.Now I am looking forward and ready to start my next chapter in life within the games industry.

I would co-found Handsome Devil Studios on a company incubation program. During this, I would, complete a Master's in Entrepreneurship, create and co-pitch The Last SIren to a number of publishers including Ubisoft, while maintaining all business and Finacial documentations. I would work alongside artists, designers, programmers, audio, and animators. My role would be to bring all these elements together, some tasks I did include- set up animation state machines, program in core gameplay and player mechanics in blueprints, set up and work on player GUI and support the team's artist getting all their UI art in with relevant animations, cinematics, gameplay triggers, all in blueprints - With a firm focus on making everything I did, 'designer-friendly' essentially after extensively testing I would then go through my variables and make sure that it was clear and understandable to everyone and then I would make short videos and documentation to support my work as well. I would also support level design within the game by adding various small assets around the world and help to make a number of key locations too.

Game Programmer
For this project, we had quite a large team, we had 11 members and I was tasked with several roles throughout development. Firstly I made it priority to make sure the team remained focused and communicated effectively during the project. I was responsible for much more programming focused role, which tasked me with working in Unreal Engine Blueprints for the first time. I would go on to make the Mako shark Tornado ability, a special high scoring fish and worked together with the other two programmers to create an in-game timer and helped to design many other abilities.
Game Designer
I was given the design programmer role which required me to make level scripting in C#, and Creation of two Stages for this game, with environmental story telling found within one of the maps. I would also help with the planning stage for this game.
Bridge Toll Collector
I was responsible for opening up and closing the toll booth, I was a key holder for the Toll booth I would be tasked to collect tolls, bank the monies in correct money bags and take the money bag to the owners at specific times of the day, and also help customers any transport directions or with queries.

I was responsible for looking after my Nan, by getting shopping, cooking food, cleaning, providing appropriate medication and just looking after her needs, throughout the day.
