In this role, I worked to oversee all creative video content put out by the University of Idaho. I managed a team of three other assistant producers assigning their projects and reviewing all finished edits. We operated as a cost-recovery unit on campus, so I handled all of the invoicing and managed our revenue and budget. We produce, script, shoot, interview, edit and direct promotional materials for use in internal and external communications, recruitment, alumni relations, and overall brand. This an incredibly fun job where we get to create all kinds of engaging video content ranging from national TV brand and advertising spots to prospective student recruitment videos and PowerPoints, as well as social, fundraising, student, staff and faculty features for events and online placement. In 2016 we produced more than 150 unique videos from over 80 project requests. My team has won many Telly awards including two Silver Telly's in 2016. Something I'm proud of in my time at this position are the successful interns, student workers, and past employees who are now working full time in the industry all over the country, from New York to LA. We have a great track record of success for any student willing to learn whatever they can about production.

Taught JAMM 475 - Advanced Digital Media Production. In this course, students are expected to write, shoot, direct, and edit their own short film. Those short films are featured at the annual Kino Short Film Festival in the historic Kenworthy Theatre in downtown Moscow, Idaho. In 2016, I led the initiative to develop the Kino Film Festival into an open submission festival for regional filmmakers. We brought in filmmakers from Montana, Washington and Idaho, giving the local film community a new outlet to showcase their work and gain recognition from their peers.

The Kino Short Film Festival has been the showcase event for short films produced by University of Idaho students completing JAMM 475 - Advanced Media Production class. In this class, students work to write, shoot, edit and direct their own short film (under ten minutes) in one semester. Tasked with updating the 15 year old festival, I worked to develop an open submission format to solicit other regional filmmakers' work. I built the submission form, developed the review criteria, was responsible for organizing the student-run fundraising and advertising efforts, reviewed all films with my student TA, was the lead contact for all those who submitted films and made the final determination on acceptance. We've since migrated the festival to FilmFreeway and are continuing to explore new ways to engage our audience and support our students.

I see myself as a coach in this position - many of the camera operators and production crew are WSU students looking to gain hands-on real world experience. For camera operators, I teach technical skill, technique and execution. We cover a lot of ground such as camera placement, shot framing, action (and focus) following, reading/leading the subject/action in front of the lens, and more. I also work with replay operators to teach proper in and out point setting and playback operations. This is a fast paced professional environment where learning is happening on the fly - mistakes are made, but are learned from. List of duties:-Direct and TD the in-house video board production for WSU basketball games -Manage a team of up to 12 people during the live production-Troubleshoot/fix equipment problems or production woes -Helped to develop work/production flow for the games-All equipment was brand new to the school - helped to iron out all problems and issues that arose-Trained workers on equipment operation

Back in the ski-bum days of my youth... Managed the day to day operations of a high-performance ski and snowboard rental shop located at the base of Crystal Mountain, near Seattle WashingtonThis job helped teach me how to listen to people's wants and needs to make recommendations. I sold new and used items, tuned and waxed skis and snowboards, handled our inventory and money at the end of each night, and - most importantly - rode 100+ days each season. It was pretty great.
