Developed, implemented and evaluated the Department's major social determinants of health program, the Colorado Opportunity Project. Led the facilitation and communications strategies across multiple Medicaid programs, effectively communicating complex material to community-based organizations, advocacy groups, and clients. Provided fiscal analysis of legislation from the Colorado General Assembly within the Health Programs Office.

Researched and interpreted public policy issues related to equal pay, water law, and Colorado minimum wage. Managed stakeholder relations, endorsement process, and bill tracking for priority legislation. Directed the office communications and drafted newsletters, op-eds, and press releases.

Provided project management support to four emerging nonprofits and advised on strategic planning, identifying key performance indicators, and designing evaluation methodologies in Boulder, Longmont, Denver, and Colorado Springs. Published policy briefs concerning health equity issues, presented formal recommendations to state commissions regarding policy solutions, and proposed strategies to advance proposals in the state legislature. Presented population health policy research to the Colorado Food Systems Advisory Council, the National End Food Waste Conference, and the Harvard Food Law Policy Clinic.

Manged volunteer canvassing events, wrote legislative campaign strategies for 2012 state elections, and gained experience in political organizing tools such as Organizer and the Voter Activation Network.
