Duties involve analysis of raw materials (Food Grade/API’s) and finished goods (Tablets/solutions for Inhalation/Injectables etc.) by client methods and/or Pharmacopeias. Testing varies depending on client needs. Including but not limited to, full monograph testing, limit tests (impurities, Metals/Organic), ID tests, Assay, Water testing, LOD, & Dissolution.

Analysis of bulk and finished goods using in-house SOP’s and USP guidelines. More than 100 different types of bulk and finished goods are analyzed through the use of HPLC, GC-FID, UV-Vis, and FTIR instruments, as well as titrations, extractions, and electrochemical measurements. Testing of thousands of unique cosmetic, drug, and active (API) raw materials. Other duties include method developments for new products as well as validation of new methods.

M.Sc. focused on development of thin film photovoltaic cells using Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) as the active layer. Cell optimization required the use of multiple different instruments and techniques, including: surface characterization (SEM, Raman, XRF, and XRD) and photoelectrochemical measurements (Cell efficiency/Active layer efficacy). Gained experience sputtering metals and metal oxides (Molybdenum, Aluminum-Doped Zinc Oxide, and Zinc oxide), which were used for different layers of cell fabrication. Also worked part time in this role as a Teaching Assistant, mentoring undergraduate students in laboratory procedures.
