I have administrative experience in AL. and SC. at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I have broad experience with interpreting state and federal accountability requirements, developing measurable, community driven strategic plans, leading professional learning communities, collecting, analyzing and acting on various student data, and implementing systems of student learning supports. Prior to my current position, I served as the Director of Instruction and Assistant Superintendent in Clarke County, AL. While in Clarke County, some of my initiatives included: leading the development of a five year strategic plan, coordinating the development of curriculum pacing guides for reading and math in grades kindergarten through twelfth, establishing an attendance intervention committee serving as a proactive measure to reduce truancy and drop-out rates, and appointed to serve on the ASDE Education Reform and Innovation Council.Prior to Clarke County, I spent two years in a small rural school district just north of Columbia, SC. In SC., I held the position of Assistant Superintendent of Accountability and Evaluation. Some of my duties included supervising social workers, testing, state and federal accountability, student safety, and attendance. I spearheaded many innovative initiatives which include coordinating district wide rezoning at the elementary level, creating a student code of conduct, implementing an Anger Management Program to reduce the number of student suspension days for acts of aggression, facilitating an Aspiring Administrators Program for teacher leaders, serving as the chairperson on the Student Expulsion Committee, and collaborating with district administrators when forming professional growth plans.I am a true believer that God puts us on paths as preparation for what He holds for us in the future. I feel fortunate that His path for me is one that allows me to serve children.
