Growing up, I was that kid people could rely on for knowledge about sports at all levels. The adoration I developed for watching sports never left me upon entering Mercer County Community College, so I decided to major in communications: new media because I felt it gave me the best opportunity to pursue a career in sports media. My devotion to working in that field grew as I developed a new set of leadership and writing skills working as sports editor of The College VOICE, MCCC's student-run publication. After transferring to Indiana University of Pennsylvania and double majoring in journalism and communications, I began to dabble in television and radio work, among other things. I served as producer of IUP-TV's "The Big Hit" for four semesters and sports editor at The Penn for two.All of the experience I gained as an undergraduate student allowed me to become fully equipped for an opportunity as the graduate assistant for sports information at Division II Ashland University in Ohio, where I earned my Master in Business Administration with a focus in sports management.Out of graduate school, I landed a full-time position as the athletics communications assistant at Division III Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. That experience led me to becoming the assistant sports information director at West Chester University. In both roles, I worked alongside the director of athletics communications to produce content on the athletics websites and social media accounts. Our departments managed all game day operations in effort to keep people informed through the production of programs, scoreboard operation, announcing, logging statistics, video broadcasting and hiring student workers to assist with those tasks and more. All of the aforementioned responsibilities gave me the skillset to work as a social media manager at Jomboy Media, where I work alongside like-minded individuals to grow the JM brand through any and all social media platforms. We work directly with Major League Baseball players, coaches and more to produce fun and informative content for fans. Among several tasks, I review each Talkin' Yanks, Talkin' Baseball and Sequence podcast released by Jimmy O'Brien, Trevor Plouffe and Jake Storiale and determine the best ways to attract more viewers through video editing, graphic design and more. I also manage the social media accounts for the shows mentioned. No matter what the level of athletics may be, I wish to continue contributing to the most thrilling and immense form of entertainment there is today: sports.
