Represented businesses and individuals in complex government enforcement and products liability matters. Government enforcement practice included the defense of businesses and individuals in litigation, administrative proceedings, and investigations brought by the SEC, FINRA, and the Maryland Securities Division. Products liability matters were primarily defensive and permitted me the opportunity to try, argue, and win cases across Virginia and Maryland.

Participated in the Honor’s Program in the Division of Enforcement.

Participated in all aspects of complex professional negligence litigation matters, including a major medical malpractice case and an architectural negligence matter involving one of the nation’s largest ecclesiastical institutions.

Contributed to a published opinion that required the application of a recent Supreme Court decision to an affirmative defense under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Surveyed the availability of expungement in the federal system and incorporated findings in a memorandum to be used for secondary source publication. Assisted in drafting an unpublished opinion resolving an appeal from a Social Security Administration proceeding.

Reviewed and analyzed trial court record, reviewed the parties' briefs to the court, researched the applicable law, and drafted memoranda of law and draft opinions for a range of civil and criminal matters. Proofed opinions for panel review.

Performed document reviewed. Prepared discovery requests for a major employment matter involving a statewide medical provider. Conducted client interviews. Organized and maintained a listing of affected employees in a collective action under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
