I have provided weekly reports to the executive team of the organization (Directors & CEO). In January I overhauled the system. My work has enabled the team to create a fresh start that currently has a 51% closing rate compared to the previous 10%. I have also driven the resolution/closure of customer credits at 95% and internal dispositions at 75%.

Design & Maintain Tooling/FixturesRecent Accomplishment: Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) Project Lead (December, 2015 – Present): Led Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility study of machine vision variation to establish the capability of the machine as an inspection device vs process aid. Created layered inspection process involving AOI to reduce risk of escapes and eliminate non-value added audit activities. Achieved buy in for project after briefing VP of Quality and staff on AOI business case (ROI, Time Savings, Repair Cost Avoidance, Defects Detected). Worked directly with director level stakeholders to develop change control process for enterprise wide implementation. Improved department defect detection to 94% effectivity and reduced escapes to internal customer by 43% YTD. Based of project results, the process was adopted enterprise-wide February, 2017.

In order to fulfill my graduation requirements, I was competitively chosen to participate in a special senior capstone program where I led a DMAIC-style process improvement project to earn a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. My project was focused on standardizing testing procedures to reduce instances of rework for an industrial coatings manufacturer, Akzo Nobel. I utilized root cause analysis, conducted a Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility study, created a value stream map, performed a Design of Experiments, and employed other tools to determine that existing rework decisions were faulty due to a poor testing system. The test’s standard operating procedures were revised and new equipment was implemented to better constrain variation that was impacting the accuracy of results. I led the project through the preliminary implementation of solution elements and successfully completed my requirements to graduate and recieve Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. The fully implemented project had savings of $100,000 annually and increased daily output by 10%.

•Facilitated assessment of asset integrity and critical equipment evaluation for an internal HSE audit. •Assisted in process improvement projects including: 5S initiative to improve usage of space in large batch production. •Conducted time studies to aid in analysis of raw materials staging process.

•Developed the detailed design & fabricated a micro air vehicle (MAV) test chamber. •Designed and fabricated a rigging device to measure thrust capacity of insect sized MAVs by constraining degrees of freedom. •Constructed a baffle to control the wind from a MAV Gust Generator.

• Building on previous work from others, conducted multiple design, fabrication, and test cycles attempting to create a flyable micro radio controlled orinithopter. • Assisted research team by fabricating MAV wing test articles.

• Developed and applied Design of Experiments software to optimize the number of test configurations and test points in a flapping wing experiment. • Using Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks, aided in the redesign and fabrication, using a 3D printer, of mountings for a simple flapping wing mechanism, and a rotary motion flapping wing mechanism.

• Using MATLAB, analyzed Synthetic Aperture Radar images utilizing a layering technique that improved image quality in support of an Air Force radar research program.
