I devote 40-50 hours a week to in-lab exercises and experiments in the structural biology laboratory of Dr. Sozanne Solmaz. In addition to my previous responsibilities as an undergraduate research assistant, I was also tasked with supervising and mentoring new undergraduates in the lab, participating in journal clubs and data presentations, as well as in grant and manuscript writing. During my year of full-time laboratory work, I was co-author on four publications, with one first authorship.

I devote 16 hours a week to in-lab exercises and experiments in the structural biology laboratory of Dr. Sozanne Solmaz. I, along with my faculty advisory, graduate students, and other undergraduate students, perform experiments such as plasmid transformation and gene expression in bacteria, protein purification, and SDS-PAGE. I also have experience with performing PCR and with operating numerous pieces of lab equipment.Since my time in the lab, I have been able to develop advanced skills and have been exposed to the intricacies of designing experiments and running a lab. I have been involved to the grant submission process as well as the process involved in submitting a publication for review.

I work with students on conveying concepts and materials covered in organic chemistry. My responsibilities as the lead tutor for organic chemistry include being a liaison between my fellow organic chemistry tutors and our boss, as well as act as a support system for any general questions regarding tutoring protocol or course content. I am also responsible for contacting professors, and for scheduling and holding large-scale review sessions prior to each exam. I devote between 10 and 15 hours a week to tutoring for University Tutoring Service and to preparation time for my sessions.
