This position allowed me to work with juvenile criminal offenders in a detention setting. While working here I assisted in the behavior treatment of the juvenile offenders. This was accomplished by holding the juveniles accountable for their actions, and making sure they were following the rules and standards of the facility. Maintaining proper documentation was also an important part of this job. During a shift here I would carry a log book and document each juvenile's actions and behaviors during my shift. My notes would then later be read by a counselor and used to assist in the rehabilitation of the juvenile.

This was a part time position that I held from my senior year of high school, and through all four years of college. During my five years at The Pines I learned various different skills that are important for being successful in the golf course industry. Most importantly I learned how to interact with people of all different ages, and how to work as a team with my manager and coworkers. I started out mainly working outside doing landscaping and mowing, and gradually learned how to perform almost every job at the golf course. I handled customer transactions, answered phone calls, took inventory, ordered products as needed, processed membership applications, checked monthly financial statements, and essential just helped my manager keep the golf course operation running smoothly.
