Kyle Maclean is the Director of Operations at Calgary Alternative Support Services (CASS), a not-for-profit human services agency dedicated to building diverse and inclusive communities. As the Director of Operations, Kyle heads up CASS’ administration team with a focus on continuous improvement and building resilient responsive administrative infrastructure in support of agency operations. Prior to joining the senior leadership team in 2018, Kyle worked with CASS as their sole IT person for nearly 15 years while also chairing variety of committees including Business Continuity and Emergency Response, Policy and Procedures, Communications, and Forms and Documents. This role provided Kyle with the opportunity to build the IT infrastructure at CASS from the ground up while also gaining a deep understanding of administrative and program operations across all aspects of the agency.In 2016 Kyle co-led a comprehensive needs assessment project for CASS which concluded that the agency required an enterprise scale software solution to integrate our disparate administrative software systems in order to un-silo our data and operations and provide a single source of truth. After publishing a request for proposals, CASS decided to partner with Sparkrock to build this system. Shortly after completing the needs assessment Kyle co-led the implementation of Sparkrock’s Finance module which went live in April of 2018.Kyle is also a father of twin toddlers and when he’s not at work, he enjoys volunteering for his local regional burning man festival as a Ranger, making wine and mead, hunting and fishing, gardening, cooking, camping, mountain biking, snowboarding and SCUBA diving.
