Boothe Eye Care was certified by Intralase as the highest volume single site user in the world in 2007. We completed over 11,000 LASIK/PRK eyes that year alone. My role was leading a 3 person patient counseling team to evaluate, educate, and convert patients to surgery. The shear volume of patients that I was able to meet with gave me an accelerated education. It allowed me to really hone my skills as it relates to understanding a patients needs and wants and overcoming barriers to surgery. This is also where I began to sharpen my expertise of marketing/advertising refractive surgery. We had a 6MM local advertising budget at our disposal, which generated significant patient volume and allowed me to develop tactics and strategies for tracking ROI.The practice owned and utilized two Intralase femtosecond lasers, being an early adopter of the latest IFS laser. In my time there, we relied heavily on the VISX excimer laser platform and also incorporated the Wavelight Allegretto 200hz and 400Hz excimer lasers.
