Oversee the compliance operations team including compliance program management and monitoring. Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, Compliance Department procedures, and compliance program standards including those for compliance risk assessments and monitoring. Assess emerging compliance issues and coordinate implementation activities across business units to facilitate compliance with changes in laws, regulations, and rules or to correct identified compliance issues. Assist management in developing appropriate control processes to address compliance issues identified in audits and examinations, as well as validating the effectiveness of the control process and escalate any unmitigated risks, issues, or gaps as necessary. Managed project resources and timelines for obtaining regulatory approval for the creation of a bank holding company and raising capital for the acquisition of a nationally chartered savings and loan institution. Worked with investment bankers to coordinate merger and acquisition research analysis and prepare investor presentations. Worked with management to develop the business plan, complete the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) Application for creation of Savings and Loan Holding Company and respond to follow up questions from the OTS. Provided additional research services relating to banking rules and regulations and developed working bank policy drafts for business planning and application purposes.
