Kyle Pitcher holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Western Michigan University. Kyle currently lives in Goshen, IN and is in demand as a music teacher and performer.Kyle is the Elementary Orchestra Director for Goshen Community Schools in Goshen, IN. In this role, Kyle prepares curriculum for and directs the 5th and 6th grade orchestra classes. Kyle also assists with the orchestra classes that serve students in grades 7 - 12 at Goshen Middle and High School(s). Kyle has previously been the director of the Youth Honors Concert Orchestra of Elkhart County, which is supported by Goshen College's Community School of the Arts.Kyle also serves as the Adjunct Instructor of Double Bass at Goshen College in Goshen, IN. This allows Kyle to work with collegiate-level music students to prepare for ensemble auditions, solo recitals, fundamental technique, and careers in the field of music education. At any given time, Kyle maintains a small studio of 6-8 private double bass students outside of Goshen College. These students have a wide range of experience levels and musical backgrounds.As a performer, Kyle is known for his versatility. He currently serves as Principal Double Bass of the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra in Elkhart, IN. On occasion, Kyle will also freelance in the bass sections of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, Kalamazoo Philharmonia and Gaylord Community Orchestra. Kyle is the bassist/vocalist for The Founding, a progressive folk ensemble based out of Kalamazoo, MI. Kyle is equally comfortable with in performing in a large auditorium, a jazz club, a musical pit, a bar, or a basement.
