Aspiring to a career in data science, I aim to bring the rigor of mathematics to a new field. As is the case with new results in mathematics, decisions in industry should be made with a thorough consideration of the relevant, available evidence. In most cases, the evidence in question comes in the form of massive amounts of data. Furthermore, as data becomes larger in both volume and features, it becomes more difficult for humans to supervise the entire data processing and analysis pipeline. This necessitates the development of robust machine learning driven models which carry both the explanatory power to derive conclusions from existing data and the ability to adapt when new data becomes available.I also believe that generative AI presents an exciting opportunity to increase efficiency by automating tedious tasks and accelerating common technical processes. This will be beneficial to many to increasing time and resources available for engaging and fulfilling work.
