A skilled trainer bolstered by previous experience in the Navy who serves as a “hands-on” resource to team members.In 2016, I was hired on as a general laborer for Orchids Paper Products at their newly opened Barnwell, SC plant. Within 2 months, I was selected, along with a 20+ other individuals to begin training for the soon to be operational Valmet designed QRT paper machine. I went through a vigorous and detailed 6-month training program provided by Valmet, in which we were instructed and tested on our knowledge of the QRT machine. I then assisted with the QRT machine commissioning process. Due to my performance during the training program, I was given one of the Machine Operator roles for Orchids, overseeing shift production. I maintained this position for the remainder of Orchid’s ownership of the Barnwell, SC facility, and continued serving in that position through the acquisition of the plant by Cascades. In 2021, I was promoted to Crew Lead of one of four paper mill crews due to my extensive knowledge and mastery of the machine, as well as for my knowledge of the supporting operations serving paper mill production. In 2023, I was promoted to Training Coordinator for Paper Mill Operations for my knowledge of the production process, and for my ability to share and teach this knowledge in an approachable, and easy to understand way. As my past six years of work experience will show, I have provided valuable knowledge and experience for Cascades, and it my hope that I will be able to continue to do so going forward in my career.
