As the DICE (Diversity, Inclusion, Cohesion, and Equality) Officer at Avon Fire and Rescue Service, I develop and implement strategies to foster an inclusive workplace, champion inclusive policies, and provide guidance on diversity-related issues. I deliver training to staff, support operational teams in integrating diversity principles, and coordinate events that celebrate our diverse backgrounds - including our amazing 'Big Breakfast' to celebrate Bristol Pride. My role ensures that our workplace reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.At Evergreen Primary Academy, I was honoured to hold the role of Raising Attainment Lead, where I focused on student health and wellbeing, behavior, education, and extracurricular activities. I was dedicated to supporting my colleagues' professional growth through personalised 1-2-1 sessions and leading initiatives in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, Oracy, and Physical Education. Additionally, I enjoyed conducting staff development sessions and collaborating with various educational professionals and stakeholders. As a class teacher, I prioritised creating a positive learning environment, especially in music education, and achieved outstanding results.My experience as a sports coach at RugbyTots equipped me with valuable skills in delivering engaging sessions and fostering inclusive environments.Outside of work, I proudly belong to the LGBTQ+ community and captain Bristol's LGBTQ+ inclusive football team, the Bristol City Panthers. Advocating for diversity and inclusion, particularly in the workplace, is a passion of mine. I'm committed to supporting my LGBTQ+ colleagues and promoting equality across all aspects of the 9 protected characteristics.
