Clinical Engineers support and advance patient care by applying engineering and managerial skills to our health care technology. As a Technical Career Field Trainee, I participated in a two year training program which grants trainees the opportunity to have one on one mentoring with seasoned clinical engineers, and attended national conferences and core training events, as well as continual education activities. Additional responsibilities in this environment included:• Service contract management• Implementation and installation of medical devices/systems• Data processing systems for management of medical equipment• Financial or budgetary management• Coordination of service agreements and in-house operations

Breas Medical developed a complete line of respiratory medical devices from Homecare Life Support Ventilation to CPAP devices. While at Breas I had the opportunity to be part of the quality and test engineering team tasked with testing Breas's new product line of ventilators. • Gained exposure to multiple test software programs: PicoLab Thermocouple Data Logger, Flo-Lab, and Shared Device GUI (Breas's proprietary test system).• Completed thermal and performance testing, and was responsible for updating all units with the most recent firmware releases.

Worked with PSI's new compact, multi-modal, high-resolution, retinal imager. This imaging platform is designed for fast, cone-photoreceptor density mapping and precise imaging of other retinal structures.• Gained experience working in a fiber optics lab creating fiber bundles of different geometric configurations• Designed various mounting structures using Solidworks needed for animal testing of retinal imaging devices• Processed and overlaid images from visible light images and APD filtered images using Matlab

• Aided in the design and assembly of prototypes for low voltage, power regulation applications• Performed environmental, structural, and thermal testing on prototype designs• Tested assembled units for functionality and verified product configuration to order• Submitted ECO's and MCO's to engineers for approval into Gridco's Arena document control system• Created assembly work instructions and test procedure documentation• Generated purchase orders and received incoming shipments into company’s Jira tracking system• Gained experience working with a Bridgeport, drill press, rotary saw, mag drill, air powered/rotary grinders, dremels, soldering, forklift, etc.
