Big Slide is one of the most notable breweries in New York, it is the sister brewery to the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery that began operation in 1996. Owned by Chris Erickson, who serves as the president of the New York Brewers Association, the pub makes UBU Ale, a favorite of Bill Clinton. Big Slide was opened to offer a more upscale brewery and dining experience. As a bartender we were expected to be well educated about the product. I can confidently speak to the brewing process, beer styles, aging, kettle sours, and mix culture fermentation.
