My family has had a beef cattle ranch since I was born, I grew up exploring 550 acres, collecting wildlife and learning how to operate a beef cattle ranch. I joined the Future Farmers of America in high school and showed beefmaster heifers. Those cattle became the start of my own purebred, registered beefmaster herd. During this time, i spent many hours hunting and fishing, where i gained an appreciation for wildlife and conservation. I also learned how operate farm equipment like tractors, backhoes, augers, plows, and pulling trailers. In high school I took a job at a local vet clinic to pursue my passion for animals until I was needed at my parents mattress store that took a hard hit in 2008. I worked there as a sales associate and deliveries manager until college. In college, I was not sure what career path I wanted to pursue and my grades reflected my confusion. I paused my education and joined the oilfield. I began in hydro-static pressure testing, then into Power-chokes and Flowback operations. I worked from the bottom up, climbing the ranks until the big shutdown. From there I began work in land survey, crawling through swamps, pastures and fields across the Houston area, collecting data and operating equipment like Trimble GPS, robotic lasers, ATV's, machete's, axes, small boats for lake and pond surveys, and swung a hammer more than I did in the oilfield. The opportunity to finish college presented itself and my wife and I took it. Where I became a full-time student and part-time cashier. My major is Natural Resource Management, focusing on land management and wildlife and fisheries development. In my spare time I volunteer at Dove Creek Volunteer Fire Dept, as a firefighter/first responder, the San Angelo Waterlily garden (I.W.C), and the Texas Youth Hunt program, and Living History's Goods-Light Brigade and Loyal Train Artillery. All while making the Deans list for good grades at Angelo State University.
