I spent a year and a half as a math major taking Algebra, Real Analysis, and Combinatorics. This culminated with my summer research with Professor Marcolli on Orbifolds. Paper attached.I switched to the Computer Science major and worked on a wide variety of subjects including: GPU programming, functional programming, quantum information, and compilers. I have written a course in Python with Professor Vanier and TA-ed multiple classes. I was a sysadmin for two student-run clusters on campus for which I still provide advice and support. I also sat on the Student-Faculty Conference Committee for the Computer Science Department, influencing which courses would be added or subtracted from the major requirements. This overlooks the general science education background required at Caltech, which includes vector calculus, organic chemistry, and quantum mechanics.
