As a Product Engineer, I support the design and engineering of interior systems for OEMs, creating solutions to component development and vehicle integration problems in a highly cross-functional team environment.

I worked as a customer-oriented manufacturing engineer for Hanwha Azdel, an automotive materials supplier to Tier 1 vehicle interior part manufacturers. The role utilized knowledge of Azdel manufacturing and thermoforming molding processes in order to solve customer manufacturing problems, investigate quality claims, support new business acquisition, and lead customer process improvement projects.

While studying at the University of Michigan, I was a member of a multidisciplinary team design project sponsored by Northrop Grumman Co. on 3D Printing from Martian Dust. The vision of our project was to save cost of traveling to future extraterrestrial destinations (such as Mars) by deriving useful and printable media from local regolith, and by using additive manufacturing technology to print working parts. I worked on the chemistry team, designing and optimizing experiments to improve our extraction reactions to prepare high quality performance materials. I also did project planning for our sponsor company, meeting on a weekly basis to discuss the direction of our project along with progress towards goals and objectives.

I worked as a student co-op for eight months in my second employment with DTE Energy. I was a part of the chemical laboratories plant-support team that operated within DTE Electric Fossil Generation. In addition to learning and performing several standard material characterization analyses, I was tasked with improving scorecards and investigating use of data visualization software for annual metric tracking. I utilized my programming proficiency and continuous improvement background to identify and suggest opportunities for productivity savings. For instance, using macros in Microsoft Excel, I automated and helped implement more efficient methods for laboratory data entry tasks, thereby reducing manual input. My role also included completion of several safety projects to maintain and improve upon high safety standards held in the lab spaces and throughout the company altogether. Furthermore, as my work moved remotely at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was part of a small team that developed a fully digital and highly automated process for laboratory document creation, revision, and management.

I worked as an Event Staff Member at various venues in Ann Arbor while studying at the University of Michigan. This job allowed me to demonstrate professionalism, respect, and enthusiasm in helping others while being a dependable, organized, and punctual employee. I held this job to develop my time management skills with commitments to multiple extracurricular clubs, organizations, study groups, and sports in addition to rigorous coursework.

I worked for DTE Gas Codes and Standards as an intern automating various processes within this department. The department's job is to ensure that the gas distribution and management is in compliance with state and federal regulations. My role fell under the umbrella of continuous improvement, where I sought opportunities to develop and enhance current processes to save valuable time for this department. I worked with various Microsoft products to automate typically manual, tedious tasks such as communication and file storage to make processes more consistent, efficient and available. I also did work with data visualization with the intent to turn a plethora of data and metrics into meaningful information. This allowed the department to more easily track progress towards meeting goals and completing projects on time.
