Helped Brightline scale from 2 engineers to ~30 over the course of 2 years. We have managed to stay productive with a simple Ruby on Rails monolith even as we have scaled our engineering team.

HealthPro was acquired by OurHealth in May 2016.• Developed an internal application used by ~10 agents to coordinate referrals for patients using Ruby on Rails and React• Integrated with third-party services including PokitDok, Datica, and Salesforce• Hired and coached 2 engineers and a data analyst• Delivered a new patient onboarding experience in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Operations• Drove adoption of OKRs for strategic planning

• Built core features for a web and mobile banking application using React, Backbone, and CoffeeScript – account management, fund transfers, notifications, etc• Lead planning and delivery of new features for a large Midwest-area credit union• Lead user testing / UX sessions with bank customers to get rapid feedback on early prototypes• Delivered application scope on-time and on-budget prior to a major core conversion

• Rewrote warehouse processing software to improve throughput and accuracy over hundreds of thousands of items per month• Launched a consumer service with a new Ruby on Rails application• Prototyped a mobile application, including barcode scanning via the camera• Extracted a cost estimate service that was shared across internal web, consumer web, and consumer mobile applications• Built and scaled job queues for Amazon and eBay listings

• Employee #7, Engineer #3 for a company that went public• Major contributor to early core features – an internal CRM, systems for crawling and scraping claims from insurance portals, real-time price estimates, search, and more – for a Ruby on Rails 1.x/2.x application• Drove adoption of lean and agile processes on the engineering team• Integrated with 2 massive insurance payers through a combination of web crawling/scraping and SOAP/REST APIs• Interviewed several dozen engineers and helped onboard new engineering hires during a period of hypergrowth (10 -> 100 employees, $60M raised in 2 years)

• Developed an Adobe Flex application that integrated with a C++ native app and RESTful PHP server for an in-game chat client for DirectX 9 games• Introduced design patterns and object-oriented best practices to increase velocity• Led a distributed team of 2 programmers in SF, 1 in England, and 2 in Vietnam

• Prototyped and launched 3-4 interactive voice response (IVR) systems for major clients using a proprietary scripting language• Gathered business requirements in collaboration with our account managers• Led a weekly training meeting with 10-15 people where we analyzed calls and conducted post-mortems to improve our IVR designs• Added tools and language features to reduce time-to-launch and number of bugs for new client implementations
