I am an undergraduate student at James Madison University, majoring in chemistry. I have recently completed a three-month research project at JMU, where I synthesized, purified, and analyzed organic analog compounds using various chemical and analytical techniques. I also have experience as a learning assistant at JMU, where I provided teaching and mentorship to students in chemistry courses.As an undergrad researcher, I collaborated and communicated with group members who were hard of hearing and/or deaf. I also learned how to use advanced instruments such as ion chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography, and infrared spectroscopy, enhancing my practical and theoretical skills in organic chemistry. As a learning assistant, I managed my time between assisting students and my own classwork, showing my responsibility and commitment. I also developed my interpersonal and leadership skills by facilitating discussions, answering questions, and providing feedback. I am passionate about chemistry and education, and I aspire to pursue a career in an industry that allows me to apply my knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems.
