The conclusion of the Environmental Assessment in January of 2015 represented the successful completion of Canada’s first metal mining Standard Environmental Assessment (CEAA 2012) as well as Ontario’s first Individual Environmental Assessment thereby enabling New Gold to begin construction of the Rainy River Gold Mine.
