After 15 months of ownership of the Allied Healthcare Facilities/Medical Malpractice Book of Business for the CNA Atlanta Branch with continued growth in technical expertise (underwriting acumen, decision making abilities, etc.) and consistent, successful, and profitable portfolio management of renewals and new business accounts, an offer to relocate to the CNA Nashville Branch was made and accepted in July 2018. The Allied Healthcare Book of Business for the CNA Nashville Branch is larger, more complex, and significantly more responsibility, which validates my progression as an Underwriter and warrants this promotion. My relocation was completed on 9/24/2018 and permanent responsibility of the Allied Healthcare Book of Business for the CNA Nashville Branch was assumed at this time. Core job duties and responsibilities remain the same as previously described. Effective April 2019, Mentorship and Referral Manager responsibilities for another CNA Allied Healthcare Underwriter was offered and accepted. As a Mentor, it will be my responsibility to help develop this Underwriter in all responsibilities and performance metrics that we as underwriters are accountable for: underwriting acumen, understanding of CNA’s appetite/strategy, sales pitches, renewals, new business, data analytics, desk management, account triaging, etc. As a Referral Manager, it will be my responsibility to review and approve of Renewals and New Business accounts that fall out of the Underwriter’s Letter of Authority. Common Letter of Authority parameters are increased limits, particular venues (“Judicial Hell Holes”), scope of services, pricing deviations, and more.
