Led the initiative to bring the driveability target setting function to the US for the first time, and refined the process to include the first customer research clinic for dynamics. This initiative led to the implementation of several firsts for Toyota including rev matching downshifts, high response performance mode and extremely low levels of customer complaint. Main job responsibility included the independent management of technician and engineering resources as well as budget, facilities and manpower. The output from the research activities was presented on a regular basis to upper management in the US and Japan.

Professional accolades include the largest Cost Savings recognition award to date for creating a new catalyst aging process, Toyota Quality Award for preventing a quality problem before mass production, Safety Innovation Award for preventing a potential safety issue and two trade secrets related to catalyst technology.

Emissions and fuel economy development for future vehicles. Major responsibilities included pre-development research and fuel economy target setting, regulatory compliance, market trending and positioning for domestic and overseas markets. Other activities included project leader for run flat tire development, management of technician staff, and the regular presentation of results and concern areas to other groups and divisions to both technical and non-technical staff.
