I completed an advanced apprenticeship in engineering at Alstom split between working within the site services sector ensuring that the site was run with minimal disruption. I also worked within the rolling stock sector completing a variety of mechanical projects. Upon completing my apprenticeship I spent a further 6 years working within both mechanical and electrical fields.I also had heavy exposure to Lean manufacturing, this helped me greatly in the understanding of how many different aspects can be improved within a business.I am extremely health and safety conscious and have received relevant training to support this.After 10 years on the rail I worked in an automated warehouse as a resident technical engineer carrying out PPM, servicing, attending breakdowns, this has helped me significantly in receiving exposure to a completely new engineering field.My next ambition is to achieve my black belt in Six Sigma as this will aid me in my new role to continually improve the business.
