As a Quantum R&D Consultant specializing in Ophthalmic Device Product Development, my role involves steering strategic and tactical plans for R&D projects, pushing technological boundaries, and fostering industry best practices for our clientele. During my tenure as the Vice President of R&D at AcuFocus, Inc., a venture capital-funded startup pioneering depth-of-focus enhancing small aperture technology, I spearheaded the R&D organization's evolution. Responsible for the development and commercialization of innovative devices, I reported directly to the President and COO, overseeing a multifaceted team encompassing Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and NPI.My role encompassed driving product launches, ensuring their timely delivery while steering any necessary adjustments for success. The development of diverse devices like centration diagnostic systems, corneal inlay inserters, small aperture IOL optical metrology, injector systems, and unique manufacturing processes marked key milestones in our journey.Constantly seeking growth opportunities, I researched new markets and technologies to enhance the company's overall efficiency and performance.
