I have over 30 years of military service from the time I enlisted to my current position as a US Army Officer. Over the course of my military career I have been involved in management, budget analysis, have acquired many skills in information technology. I currently serve as one of five joint service Missile Defense Officers (MDO) responsible for the operations of the nation's Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) as part of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). I have the responsibility to provide senior leaders a combat and crisis picture where the GMD system is strategically used to defend the United States and its infrastructure and civilian population, by directing the engagement of threat ballistic missiles and monitoring of battle operations. My past experiences also include the directing of two missile defense crews that directly engage ballistic missile threats through the use of the Ground Based-Midcourse Defense Firing Control system (GFC), and the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) system. Additionally, I was a brigade and battalion communications officer serving as a staff officer where I interacted directly with the local and wide area networks at the Unclassified level up to the Top-Secret level. I have managed Department of Defense Signal assets, including all aspects of automation and communications-electronics related to the planning, design, engineering, operations, logistical support and evaluation of systems and networks. Developed unit requirements for the design and implementation of data communications systems and networks. Established, prepared, coordinated and directed programs, projects and activities engaged in unit level supply, maintenance, and life-cycle management of signal materiel. Provided detailed technical direction and advice to the commanders, staffs and other Command, Control, and Communications (C3) users at all echelons, supporting a vast architecture of signal and automated Systems.
