Working a physically taxing and dangerous construction job successfully for over 10 years not only teaches you what hard work really is, but that you are resilient and capable of more than what your mind and body tell you. Not pursuing higher education scared me at first but after becoming a glazier in Chicago's local union, I understood on the job training might be more helpful to me than any classroom I ever sat in. Having a labor intensive and extremely dangerous job wasn't difficult in my late teens and early twenties but once I hit 29, I realized I don't want to do this for the rest of my life and it's now or never attempting to make a living doing what I actually enjoy. Producing cinematic videos and photographs has been a lifelong passion of mine, which is why I have decided to change career paths and finally do what truly makes me happy.
